Before you pick a broker review why you are not doing well. Review you business plan (buyer/seller demographics , sales need per year, marketing plan etc) . If you have followed your plan without getting results have you modified it to try a different approach . Remember , reguardless which broker you pick you still have to have your plan to get business. Brokers don't give you business. They process the business you get . Some brokers have training programs that can help you get started and teach you the rules, but if you do not follow what the traing teaches you you will not suceed. In my area only about 20% ogf the realtors make great money, the rest are average to part timers. The differece between great/average is the marketing plans and that great realtors treat their job like their own business and work very hard at it promoting their business.

I disagree with Southern Discomfort–I'm not in the market to purchase but after reading the blog I would at least consider meeting and talking to Chris Fountain re: real estate. He seems to know the local market and despite the fact that there are no ads on the blog if you click on the About Me section of the blog it would be easy to locate Chris. Reading the blog sure beats the usual real estate marketing “fluff” that makes for advertising in this industry.
Could I purchase real estate on my own and save money. Sure. Would I want to? No. I'm a person who prefers to have a buffer between the buyer and the seller.

In the United States, “Realtor” is the name given to a “Real Estate Agent” who holds an active membership with the National Association of Realtors.Additionally, if a “Real Estate Agent” is a member of a local real estate board or a real estate firm that is associated to the National Association of Realtors, then he/she can also use the “Realtor” designation.

Yes…They are only making 150 k a year rather then 175k –they are hurting really bad lol.
All sarcasim aside, most of these people still do quite well even in bad markets.
