People are used to the economic boom of the last decade or so, its just taking a while for people to change their habits in light of the anticipated recession and higer food prices.

These figures are encouraging because they show that the economy could be recovering. The troubles of the real estate market have been well documented in the media and here at home. However, this shows that numbers are actually rising, as compared to last year. If the real estate market can improve, it shows our economy is headed in the right direction.

It's pretty much nationwide. When someone says "it's a buyer's market", that means there are more sellers than buyers, and some sellers are so desperate, they'll do just about anything within reason to sell. It doesn't really mean buyers have it EASIER.

The media. They LOVE to create the news instead of reporting it.

The Brickell, Downtown & Biscayne corridor will have a tough time. The amount units being built will create and 8-10 year supply of condos.

The over-development has “wounded” the real estate market, especially in the reference neighborhoods. It will be messy but time heals all wounds.

There are a couple of key elements in your story, 1st, He "asked" Fannie and Freddie to make loans to poor minorities, That is asked, not FORCED like Barney Frank did. 2nd, Your quote,"providing down payment assistance, increasing the supply of affordable homes, increasing support for self-help homeownership programs, and simplifying the home buying process & increasing education" What is your point there, is helping a person a bad thing?

Funny how I see nothing saying Bush forced banks to give loans to unqualified people, just a few things making it easier for a person ABLE to make their monthly payments to get a loan. But I do see many issues with Barney Frank and FORCING banks to give bad loans to people who cannot repay the loan,
